Commissioned Photography
Photography has been my profession for over 20 years and a lifelong passion for almost 40. I began in the mid-1980s by documenting life in my native Czechoslovakia and later the U.S., after moving here in the 90s. I often explored my newly adopted country by giving myself pretend magazine “assignments.” At that time, I could only dream that this devotion would one day become my career. Within a few years, though, rigorous college studies in graphic design profoundly influenced my photography work by adding creative depth and an understanding of best business practices.
Fast-forward to the present. I’ve built on those early experiences and developed long-lasting work relationships with magazines and business clients ranging from sole proprietors to global corporations. No matter the business size or industry, the goal remains to always provide photography services based on great working relationships and a commitment to delivering the best results.
Along with photography services, I provide digital editing, simple to advanced image manipulation and retouching.
I’ve worked solo or in teams with art directors and editors. I always observe deadlines and non-disclosure agreements.

I create portraits for commercial and personal clients, from formal images representing a business to more creative, playful takes on people’s unique nature. No matter the style, I always use my observational skills and creativity to achieve the desired results.

I’m genuinely passionate about telling stories for magazines and business clients. I’ve worked across industries and countries to bring in images that are not only visually pleasing but also fit and enhance the assignment storyline.

I can work solo, from developing concepts to executing photoshoots and digital touch-ups, or in teams of art directors, marketing reps, and editors. No matter the business size, I bring artistry and commerce together.
